Important Information

Maintain a distance of at least six feet from wildlife to avoid disturbing them, even if they approach you.

Do not touch, pet, or feed the animals. Avoid startling or chasing any animal from its nesting place.

Do not disturb or remove any native plant, rock, or animal—on land or in the water.

Refrain from purchasing products made from prohibited materials such as black coral, shells, lava rock, animal parts, or native wood/vegetation.

Do not transport any live material, sand, or natural elements from one island to another.

Food and drinks (except water) are not permitted on uninhabited islands.

Do not bring any food, animals, or plants to the islands.

Cooperate fully with inspection officials at the airports.

Do not leave any trash on the islands or throw litter overboard. Follow “leave no trace” principles to help preserve the environment.

Motorized water sports, mini-subs, and aerial drones are not permitted within the National Park or Marine Reserve.

Flash photography is not allowed when taking pictures of wildlife.

Smoking and campfires are strictly prohibited within Galapagos National Park protected areas.

Fishing is only allowed on recreational boats authorized by the Galapagos National Park Directorate (GNPD) and licensed for pesca vivencial.

Additional Guidelines

Visiting hours to Galapagos National Park areas are from 6:00 to 18:00. Diving activities must end by 17:00, except where night diving is specifically permitted.

Sound players such as radios, cell phones, and speakers may only be used with headphones.

Sunscreens containing chemicals harmful to marine ecosystems are regulated; guests are encouraged to use reef-safe alternatives.

To minimize disturbance to wildlife, guests are advised to avoid wearing bright-colored clothing and to refrain from using selfie sticks.
