“EDEN” – Uncover the Real-Life Mystery That Inspired Hollywood

Discover Special Promo Inside

The Galapagos Islands are best known for their breathtaking beauty, rare wildlife, and their pivotal role in the history of science. But few visitors realize that these remote isles also harbor a shadowy past—one so dramatic and strange that Hollywood has now brought it to the silver screen.

On August 22, the film “Eden” premieres in theaters across the U.S., featuring an all-star cast including Jude Law, Sydney Sweeney, Ana de Armas, Daniel Brühl, and Vanessa Kirby. Directed by Academy Award® winner Ron Howard, Eden movie dramatizes the true story of scandal, seduction, and suspected murder on Floreana Island in the early 1930s.

From October 5 to December 14, 2025, select sailings of Itinerary A include our exclusive “Tale of the Baroness” Afternoon Tea Experience, where you’ll sip, savor, and “spill the tea” on one of the Galapagos’ most infamous legends — all while standing where history unfolded.

Floreana Island: Paradise with a Dark Past

One of the smaller and more remote islands in the Galapagos archipelago, Floreana was once the setting for an extraordinary and unsettling chapter in human history. In the aftermath of World War I, a handful of European settlers sought to escape the modern world and build a utopia on this isolated island.

But their dream soon spiraled into a waking nightmare. The unexpected arrival of a flamboyant Austrian “baroness” and her lovers sparked a bizarre tale of power struggles, romantic rivalries, strange disappearances, and suspected murder—events that continue to intrigue historians, filmmakers, and curious travelers to this day.
