A journey that began in the early 1980’s

Santiago Dunn has dedicated his life to preserving and sharing the natural wonders of the Galapagos Islands, a passion ignited by his father’s pioneering vision in the early 1980s. The Dunn family’s journey in tourism began well before the launch of Ecoventura in the early 1990s, establishing a fleet of custom built identical yachts designed to offer intimate, adventure-filled experiences throughout the Galapagos.

Santiago, who was instrumental in the company’s growth, took full ownership in 1999 and has served as its president since 2009. Santiago’s commitment to the Galapagos extends beyond tourism.  He actively supports conservation efforts, including a significant partnership he established with the Charles Darwin Foundation to fund vital research and sustainability initiatives in the archipelago.

His drive for innovation and sustainability ensures that the Galapagos remains a sanctuary for future generations of adventurers and nature enthusiasts. Santiago’s passion for the Galapagos is also a family affair. He has shared this unique environment with his four sons, providing them with an education that transcends the traditional classroom. Their experiences underscore the family’s deep connection to the islands.

“We have been honored to host countless guests over the years—from solo travelers and couples to multi-generational family gatherings, often returning to the  Galapagos with their extended family in tow. Our team has cherished every moment shared with our clients. As they say, travel is the only thing you can buy that makes you richer!”
Santiago Duun
