Book your 7 night cruise on the Letty June 8-15 2008 and be part of a rare photo expedition in the Galapagos Islands led by Tui De Roy. Get expert advice from a Galapagos legend, naturalist/ writer, wildlife photographer and conservationist, Tui De Roy. Tui moved to Galapagos with her parents at the age of two to lead a pioneer lifestyle in the Galapagos Islands, long before the Islands had many visitors. She spent much of her time in the company of scientists in various fields of research, both learning from them and sharing her own intimate knowledge of the islands. Tui started guiding in 1972 and became the first licensed National Park naturalist in 1976. She was home schooled and speaks fluent English, Spanish, French and German. After living in Galapagos for 35 years, she moved to the South Island of New Zealand where she has lived for the past 15 years.
This is a unique opportunity to be in the company of a leader with vast knowledge of the islands and deep perception of current issues. She is an engaging conversationist and only rarely leads tours. Only on this trip departure, will you will have the opportunity to be in the company of fellow avid photographers. Together you can take advantage of the best light of the day and follow a schedule ideal for photographers. Visit the islands in a pace preferred by photographers with our two specialized naturalist guides.
With a keen interest in photography coupled with her naturalist's interpretive eye, Tui launched her life's career in nature photography and writing in the Galapagos 35 years ago. She has published innumerable articles in various books in many different countries around the world and featured in TV programs in the US. Tui is active in international conservation and sits on the boards of several organizations concerned with the future of Galapagos. She has also won numerous awards for both her photography and her role in conservation.
